Adityapur - the main Industrial area of Jharkhand

The Adityapur Industrial Area is located in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand just a few Kilometers away from the steel city of Jamshedpur. The Industrial area spans over an area of about 55 Square miles. It is spread over about 4000 acres of land in a stretch of 10 km on the southern part of the Tata - Chakradharpur state Highway. The entire industrial area of Adityapur is under the administrative control of the state government's independent body, viz. Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (known as AIADA). AIADA is in the process of acquiring more land to the extent of about 2000 Acres for setting up additional industrial units in years to come.

The Industrial Area consists of around 1200 small, medium and large industrial units having an annual average production of about Rs.1800 crores. There are numerous residential complexes, a few markets, a few small scale hospitals and clinics, etc. within the Adityapur Industrial Area.

The total investment in the Adityapur Industrial units is to the tune of Rs.1500 crores, which is increasing every year with large no. of units being set up.

The product range manufactured in the Industrial Area fall in the following segments - engineering, electronics, electrical, refractory & ceramics, plastics, rubber & other polymers, reinforced plastics, computer & other stationary, food products, glass products, steel, packaging, etc.

The Jharkhand state government is gradually working towards developing the Adityapur Industrial Area into a modern city providing all modern amenities for a small sized Industrial city. Several residential complexes have come over in the recent years and more are coming up. The markets of Adityapur have also grown with time. Two new bridges have come up to connect to Jamshedpur.

Jamshedpur and Adityapur together form a fairly large sized industrial populace with a decent economy creating better job opportunities and better standards of living for the local people and making it a better place to live amongst other cities in eastern India.
